SHINE (Socrates Hotel Industry National Entrance) is a structured entrance examination designed to evaluate a student’s academic readiness and suitability for professional hotel management and hospitality education.
The exam is designed to assess core foundational skills required for success in the hospitality industry.
The examination will be conducted in Online Mode.
Registered candidates will receive login details and exam instructions prior to the examination.
The test can be attempted using a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop with a stable internet connection.
Duration of the Exam
Total Duration: 45 Minutes
The exam must be completed within the allotted time.
The system will automatically submit the test once the time limit expires.

20 Questions from Each Subject
Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Each question carries equal marks.
No negative marking (recommended for student-friendly approach).
The SHINE examination will include the following four sections:
English Language (20 Questions)
Basic grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
General Knowledge (20 Questions)
Current affairs, general awareness, and basic knowledge.
Logical Reasoning (20 Questions) Analytical and problem-solving ability.
Hospitality & Service Awareness (20 Questions)
Basic understanding of hospitality industry concepts and service attitude.
Evaluation will be based on the number of correct answers.
Students who qualify may receive scholarship benefits of up to 70% discount on course fees, based on merit and eligibility criteria.
The decision of the institute regarding results and scholarships will be final.
Results will be declared after evaluation.
Qualified candidates will be guided for admission into hotel management programs.
All participants will receive a Digital Participation Certificate after result declaration.
